What makes good food photography

  • Lighting- Don't use flash or put grease proof paper over the flash, or preferably natural lighting (one light source only). 

  • Texture- Soft and rough/ bring it out with a side light.

  • Presentation/ food styling.

  • Make it original- Do it differently to how everyone else do it.

  • Shadows

  • Composition

  • have lots of colour

  • If you don't know what to do, take a close up shot.

  • Make it minimal with no clutter.

  • Can try using fun food.
